Falcons crack top 20 in all three polls

U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo. - For the first time in school history, Air Force is ranked in the top 20 in the three major polls.
As a result of defeating fourth-ranked Denver, 5-2, on Jan. 18, the Falcons cracked the top 20 in the USCHO/CSTV national poll. The Falcons are No. 20. Air Force is No. 18 in the InsideCollegeHockey.com poll. The Falcons are receiving votes in the USA Hockey Magazine/UST Today poll and based on the number of votes, Air Force is No. 18.
The Falcons are 3-2-1 vs. ranked teams this season with two victories of then No. 14 Quinnipiac and the win over Denver. AFA's only losses are to then No. 14 Boston College and then No. 3 Colorado College. AFA tied then No. 12 Minnesota.
Air Force, 12-8-4 overall and 9-6-3 in the AHA, travels to West Point, N.Y., for a two-game league series with Army, Friday, Jan. 25 and Sunday, Jan. 27. Friday's game starts at 8:05 p.m. on CSTV while Sunday's game is at 4:05 p.m. on ESPN U.
