Abbey Rogers Will Serve as Women's Gymnastics Team Captain

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force senior Abigail Rogers will serve as the team captain for the 2009 women's gymnastics program, head coach Doug Day announced. Rogers, the Falcons' lone senior, will guide a young squad that features 16 underclassmen.
After missing her freshman season with illness, Rogers has become a force on the Falcons' program. The 2008 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Co-Gymnast of the Year, Rogers is the team's returning leader in the all-around, as well as three of the four individual events. A CoSIDA academic all-district selection, Rogers is a two-time member of the MPSF and NACGC/W all-academic teams.
The Falcons open the 2009 season on Friday, Jan. 9, with the Air Force Triangular at 6 p.m. Air Force will welcome Eau Claire and Wisconsin-La Crosse to the Cadet West Gym.
