Rogers Leads Falcons at Seattle-Pacific

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Junior Abigail Rogers earned a pair of first-place finishes, as the Air Force women's gymnastics team dropped a 187.250-186.550 decision to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Seattle-Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 23, in Seattle, Wash. Rogers paced the Falcons with winning marks on the floor exercise (9.725) and all-around (38.325).
In addition to those winning marks, Rogers also led the Falcons on the uneven bars and balance beam. She tallied a season-best score of 9.600 on the uneven bars and a 9.525 on the beam to finish third in both events. Rogers also recorded a third-place score of 9.475 on the vault.
Senior Kelly Lewis led the Falcons on the vault, finishing second with a score of 9.500. She also matched her season-best score of 9.575 on the floor exercise to take fourth. Rogers and Lewis were two of four Falcons to finish within the top-six. Freshmen Lisa Wong (9.550) and Brittany Dutton (9.450) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Dutton picked up a third-place finish in the all-around (36.725) and sixth-place mark on the vault (9.375). Sophomore Michelle Denise tied with Rogers for third on the uneven bars (9.600), while classmate Kayla Kincade rounded out the Falcons' appearances in the top six, with a fourth-place score of 9.450 on the balance beam.
The Falcons return to the Academy for a pair of competitions with Eastern Michigan. The Falcons and Eagles first meet on Wednesday (Feb. 27), before concluding the week on Friday (Feb. 29). Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m., in the Cadet West Gym.
