WOODLAND, Calif. - After claiming a pair of USAG national titles and earning the USAG Outstanding Senior Gymnast award, Air Force's Greg Stine was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced this morning (April 1). It is the second such honor of the season for Stine and the fourth of his career.
On Friday, Stine won his third consecutive USA Gymnastics national all-around title with a combined score of 86.800 - a two-point advantage over the rest of the field. The very next night, Stine won the USAG national title on the parallel bars with an Academy record score of 14.900. In addition, he earned USAG All-America certificates on the floor exercise (14.650), still rings (14.500) and high bar (12.850).
Stine concluded his four-year Academy career with seven USAG national titles and 15 USAG All-America accolades - more than any other gymnast in Air Force history.
The Falcons return to action this Saturday (April 5), as they travel to Lincoln, Neb., for the 2008 MPSF Championships.
