Former Falcon Dan Nwaelele on Spurs' Summer League Team

Former Air Force basketball player Dan Nwaelele is a member of the San Antonio Spurs' summer league team that will participate in the 2008 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas from July 14-17 and the 2008 Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City from July 18-22. The Spurs will play eight games in nine days, beginning on Monday, July 14 against the Memphis Grizzlies in Las Vegas.
Nwaelele, who graduated from the Academy in 2007 after helping the Falcons to two NCAA Tournament appearances and an NIT semifinal berth, is currently a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He finished his career at Air Force ranked 17th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,066 points and is No. 2 all-time in three-point percentage at 45.1 percent (173-384).
Nwaelele is the second former Falcon to play for the Spurs' summer league team in the last three years. A.J. Kuhle, currently an assistant coach at the University of Denver, played in 2006.
