Volkening named AHA Goalie of the Month

Air Force senior goaltender Andrew Volkening was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Goalie of the Month for November as he helped lead Air Force to a current seven-game unbeaten streak.
Volkening, from Genoa, Ill., posted a 4-0-3 record, a 1.24 goals-against average and a .953 saves percentage in seven games in November. After Air Force opened the season with an 0-4 start, Volkening's play has played a major role in the turnaround. AFA is currently 6-5-3 overall and in second place in the AHA with a 6-1-3 record. In November, Volkening allowed just nine goals in seven games. Five of the games were on the road and all seven were league contests. His 100th career game was a 3-0 win over Bentley, Nov. 7. In his next start, he blanked Holy Cross, 1-0. His shutout streak of 182 consecutive scoreless minutes was the second-longest of his career.
