Falcons Travel to Southeast Missouri State

After a week off from competition, the Air Force women's gymnastics team will travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for a dual meet with Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, March 14. Action begins at 7 p.m. (CST), in the Houck Field House on the SEMO campus. It will be the Falcons' final road meet of the regular season.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Southeast Missouri State is 8-3 overall and undefeated at the Houck Field House (5-0). It is the final home meet of the season for the Redhawks, who will honor their three seniors during the meet with the Falcons. SEMO is coming off of a 193.775-191.000 victory at former Air Force opponent Centenary College on March 6. In common opponents, the Redhawks are 2-0, while the Falcons are 1-1.
BUSY TIMES AHEAD
The dual meet at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, March 14 marks the first of three competitions within a seven-day span for the Falcons. Air Force returns to the Academy for a dual meet with Denver on Tuesday, March 17, before hosting the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on Friday, March 20.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
After pacing the Falcons to a 3-0 weekend, senior Abbey Rogers claimed her third MPSF Gymnast of the Week honor on March 3. At Wisconsin-La Crosse, Rogers won the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around, while finishing second and third, respectively, on the vault and uneven bars. She followed that up two days later with a victory on the vault at Hamline and a trio of second-place finishes.
AN AWARDING EXPERIENCE
Backed by Abbey Rogers' three Gymnast of the Week awards, Air Force has accounted for four of the nine total honors handed out by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation this season. Rogers, who also earned the honor on Jan. 13, Feb. 3 and March 3, joins sophomore Brittany Dutton, who picked up the Feb. 17 honor.
GOING BY RANK...
Jenna Dudley leads the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in the all-around, with a regional qualifying average of 38.270. Dudley is also listed among the league leaders on the uneven bars (fourth, 9.650) and floor exercise (fourth, 9.730). Teammate Abbey Rogers is ranked second in the all-around (38.230), third on the balance beam (9.600) and fourth on the vault (9.690).
AIR FORCE LEAVES MIDWEST WITH 3-0 RECORD
The Falcons concluded their Midwest road trip with a perfect 3-0 record. On Friday, Air Force won the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational, defeating the host Eagles (187.300-185.675) and visiting Wisconsin-Oshkosh (187.300-176.700). The Falcons closed out the weekend on Sunday, easily defeating Hamline 188.725-180.300 in a dual meet.
TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS
Highlighted by freshman Jenna Dudley's four first-place finishes, Air Force swept the event titles at its dual meet with Hamline on March 1. Dudley won the uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and all-around, while senior Abbey Rogers picked up a victory on the vault. It is the most victories in a single meet for the freshman Falcon.
UNEVENLY SPEAKING
Paced by Jenna Dudley's first-place finish, Air Force swept the top four spots on the uneven bars at Hamline. Abbey Rogers finished second, while sophomore Brittany Dutton and freshman Samantha Jones finished third and fourth, respectively.
AIR FORCE WINS IN WISCONSIN
Claiming a share of top spot on three of the four individual events, Air Force won the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational on Feb. 27. The victories over the Wisconsin schools of La Crosse and Oshkosh evened the Falcons' overall record at 7-7.
DOUBLE "A" POWER
Junior Aftan Boudreaux and senior Abbey Rogers accounted for the Falcons' event victories at the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational. Boudreaux took first on the uneven bars, while Rogers won the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around. It is the first event title for Boudreaux, who led the Falcons to five of the top six spots on that event.
WHAT' AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Air Force returns to the Academy on Tuesday, March 17, when they host local rival Denver at 6 p.m., in the Cadet West Gym. During the meet, the Falcons will honor their lone senior, team captain Abbey Rogers.
