SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
All three competitors were in action this past weekend. Alaska Anchorage dropped a pair of meets to Kentucky, while UC Davis and Seattle Pacific finished third and fourth, respectively, at the Sacramento State Quad Meet. (a complete breakdown is on page 2 of this release)
GOING BY RANK
Freshman Jenna Dudley and senior Abbey Rogers are ranked among the conference leaders in several events. Dudley is ranked second in the all-around, fourth on the floor exercise and sixth on the uneven bars, while Rogers is ranked third in the all-around, fifth on the balance beam and sixth on the vault.
GOING OUT ON A HIGH NOTE
Air Force posted its second highest team total of the season in its regular season finale. Highlighted by a season-best score on the uneven bars, the Falcons posted a score of 190.850 to finish second to 25th-ranked Denver on March 17. The team score is just shy of its season-high (190.925) set earlier this year against Alaska Anchorage.
DUTTON DOES IT AGAIN
Sophomore Brittany Dutton paced the Falcons to a season-high team score on the uneven bars, tying for third with a tally of 9.725. She also paced the club on the floor exercise (sixth, 9.650), while setting a season-best score of 9.700 to place seventh on the vault. She also finished fourth in the all-around with a season-high total of 38.025.
SENIOR NIGHT SENDOFF
In the regular season finale on March 17, senior Abbey Rogers matched her career high on the vault, after scoring a 9.775 to finish fourth. Rogers first set that score earlier this season against Texas Woman's University.
AN "ALL-AROUND" GOOD TIME
Freshman Jenna Dudley tallied a score of 38.475 to pace the Air Force all-arounders against Denver. That score is her third-best of the season and marked the eighth time in 11 meets that Dudley has surpassed the 38-point mark in the all-around.
JUST ROLLING ALONG
Air Force is wrapping up a grueling seven day span that features three competitions, including the conference championships. The Falcons competed at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, March 14, before returning to the Academy for Tuesday's meet against No. 25 Denver. Air Force remained at the Academy for the MPSF Championships, which will be held on Friday, March 20.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Up next on the Falcons' schedule is the NCAA Regional Championships, which will be held in Iowa City, Iowa, on Saturday, April 4. Air Force will then travel to New Haven, Conn., for the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships on April 9-11.
