Dudley and Rogers Selected to NCAA Regional Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Freshman Jenna Dudley and senior Abbey Rogers were selected to compete in the all-around at the NCAA North Central Region Women's Gymnastics Championships, the NCAA office announced this afternoon (March 23). With the selection, the Air Force duo will compete in Iowa City, Iowa, on Saturday, April 4, for the right to advance to the national championships.
Dudley and Rogers are the top two "seeds" of the individual all-around selections, joining No. 3 Nicki Felley (Utah State), No. 4 Lyndsie Boone (Utah State) and No. 5 Meghan Hargens (Wisconsin-Stout). As of the March 16 rankings, Dudley holds a regional qualifying score of 38.290 (highlighted by season-high total of 38.825), while Rogers has a RQS of 38.225 (highlighted by a season-high of 38.950).
Six teams, five all-around competitors who aren't on a qualifying team and one specialist per event who is not on a qualifying team or selected as an all-around competitor were named to each of the six regions - West, North Central, South Central, Central, Northeast and Southeast.
The Air Force pair is two of just three individuals from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation to earn a regional selection, joining Alaska Anchorage's Leah Wilson, who is participating in the West Region. Four other conference gymnasts were named alternates in the West Region.
The six full squads that will be competing at the North Central Regional are No. 6 Florida, No. 7 UCLA, No. 18 Minnesota, No. 20 Denver, No. 23 Iowa State and No. 28 Iowa. Individual athletes, including the remaining three all-arounders and the individual event specialists are from Utah State, Wisconsin-Stout and BYU.
Dudley will rotate with the University of Florida, while Rogers will participate with the UCLA squad. Regional action for the pair begins at 6 p.m. (CST) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on the University of Iowa campus.
The top two teams, as well as the top two all-arounders and individual event specialists who are not on an advancing team, from each region will receive an automatic berth into the NCAA Championships, which will be held April 16-18.
