Flynn named West Team's MVP at Skills Challenge

USAFA, Colo. - Air Force senior Greg Flynn was named the West Team's Most Valuable Player at the NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., Friday, April 10.
Flynn was on the West Team, which lost to the East, 16-9. The defenseman from Lino Lakes, Minn., fired the second hardest slap shot at 88.3 miles per hour. Boston College's Andrew Orpik won the competition at 88.8 miles per hour. Flynn then dominated the accuracy shooting contest. After missing on his first shot, Flynn hit the target on his next five consecutive shots, the only player in the competition to hit all five. Then, in the penalty shot competition, Flynn was the only West player to score in the second rotation when he went five-hole on the East goaltender.
An Air Force player as earned top performer honors at the Skills Challenge each of the last two years as Eric Ehn took the top honors last season in Denver. --30--
