WOODLAND, Calif. - Following a stellar performance last week at 18th-ranked Denver, Air Force sophomore Jenna Dudley was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the commissioner's office announced this afternoon (March 2). The award, the second of Dudley's young career, came exactly one month after her first such honor.
With two career-best matching marks, the sophomore all-arounder guided the Falcons to its highest team total since the 2004 season (191.725) in a narrow loss to No. 18 Denver on Feb. 22. Dudley made two trips to the awards' podium, tying for second on the floor exercise and finishing second outright in the all-around.
Dudley equaled her personal-best score on the floor exercise (9.775) to finish in a tie for second, while matching her career-best total of 38.825 to place second in the all-around. She also paced the Falcons on the uneven bars and balance beam, while finishing tied for the team lead on the vault. Dudley posted matching scores of 9.675 on the bars and vault, while setting a new season-high score of 9.700 on the beam.
The Falcons are off until Friday, March 12, when they travel to Anchorage, Alaska, for the first of two dual meets with the UAA Seawolves.
