Jenna Dudley Wins MPSF Vault Title as Falcons Finish Third

SEATTLE, Wash. - Air Force sophomore Jenna Dudley scored a career-best 9.800 for the second straight week to win the vault title, as the women's gymnastics team wrapped up competition at the 2010 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Seattle, Wash., on Saturday, March 27. With the victory, Dudley became the Falcons' first-ever league vault champion.
In addition to her title on the vault, Dudley tied with junior Brittany Dutton for third on the floor exercise with a score of 9.825. That score is a personal best for both Dudley and Dutton, marking two of the highest floor exercise scores in recent years.
Freshman Britany Calley, who missed the first half of the competitive season, was the conference runner-up in the all-around. Highlighted by a team-leading and career-best matching score of 9.775 on the balance beam, Calley combined of a score of 38.375.
Senior Aftan Boudreaux was the Falcons' top finisher on the uneven bars, placing eighth with a score of 9.650. Air Force earned additional top-10 finishes from junior Lisa Wong and senior Michelle Denise. Wong matched her personal-best beam score of 9.725 to finish 10th, while Denise improved her career-high mark on the floor exercise to 9.775 during a ninth-place performance.
As a team, the Falcons accumulated a score of 192.500 to place third. UC Davis won the meet with a score of 194.150, while host Seattle-Pacific placed second with a score of 192.850. Alaska-Anchorage rounded out the four-team meet with a score of 190.725.
The NCAA will release its field of competitors for the 2010 NCAA Regional Championships within the next week. The regional meet is scheduled for Saturday, April 10, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
