Air Force Set to Conclude Season at USAG Championships

The Air Force women's gymnastics team concludes the 2010 season this weekend, as it travels to Denton, Texas, for the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. The three-day meet will take place at Kitty Magee Arena in Pioneer Hall on the campus of Texas Woman's University.
HOW IT WORKS
Eight teams and 17 individual qualifiers from across the country will compete at the USAG Championships. The 2010 meet will feature two semifinal sessions on Thursday, April 15. The top four teams (based on score) will advance to the team finals on Friday, April 16. In addition to determining the team standings, Thursday's competition will serve as a semifinal into the individual event finals. The top 10 finishers (including ties) from each of the four events will advance to the event finals on Saturday, April 17.
WHO WE'LL SEE
Air Force will compete in the first semifinal session on Thursday, April 15, along with Bridgeport, Rutgers and Seattle Pacific. William and Mary, Cornell, Temple and host Texas Woman's University will compete in the second session, which is slated to begin at 7 p.m. In addition to the eight teams, 19 individuals from Brown, Southern Connecticut, Centenary and West Chester will compete for a chance at the individual event titles.
HISTORY 101
Air Force won USAG national team titles during both the 2001 and 2002 seasons. Five Falcons have claimed individual titles, including three two-time champions. Kimberly Broughton won the all-around title in 2000 and 2002, while Allison Todd placed first on the balance beam in 2002 and 2003. Most recently, Aftan Boudreaux (uneven bars) and Jenna Dudley (all-around) claimed USAG All-America status during last year's championship meet.
QUARTET WRAPS UP REGIONAL ACTION
Jenna Dudley and Brittany Dutton finished 16th and 19th, respectively, at the NCAA Regional Championships in Salt Lake City on April 10. Michelle Denise and Lisa Wong competed as event specialists, with Denise placing 30th on the vault and Wong finishing 39th on the balance beam.
