Pair of Falcons Named to ACWPC All-Academic Team

USAFA, Colo. - Two Air Force water polo players have been named All-Academic selections by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC), as announced by the organization. Junior Andrew Strawbridge and sophomore Danny Harold earned Excellent distinction.
Varsity water polo athletes in any division (NCAA I, II, III or NAIA) with at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA are eligible for the ACWPC All-Academic team. Three different categories are awarded, based on GPA--Outstanding (3.71-4.00), Superior (3.41-3.70) and Excellent (3.20-3.40).
Strawbridge, a native of San Jose, Calif., earns his third-straight honor this season. He has posted a 3.36 GPA as a biology major. A reserve for the Falcons, Strawbridge recorded three goals and two assists in 2009.
Meanwhile, Harold earns All-Academic accolades for the second year. A native of Corona Del Mar, Calif., Harold holds a 3.39 GPA in electrical engineering. The Falcons' backup goalkeeper in 2009, Harold registered 69 saves over the season.
Since 1994, Air Force has had 23 different players earn a total of 49 ACWPC All-Academic honors, including four who were four-time honorees.
