Torf named AHA Rookie and Goalie of the Week

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force Academy freshman goaltender Jason Torf was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie and Goalie of the Week for his performance in a sweep at Bentley, Dec. 30-31.
Torf, from Hermosa Beach, Calif., led Air Force to its first road sweep of the season as he posted a .944 saves percentage and a 2.00 GAA in two wins at Bentley. In the first game, he made 29 saves including 11 in the third period which enabled Air Force to come from a 2-0 deficit in third for a 3-2 overtime win. In the second game, Torf made a career high 39 saves, including 16 in the third period as Air Force held off Bentley for a 3-2 win. During a five-minute major that included a two-minute 5-on-3 in the third period, he made six saves as Air Force clung to a 3-2 lead.
Air Force, 8-7-2 overall and 6-3-2 in the AHA, travels to Sacred Heart for two league games, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 7-8.
