Gunner named AHA Rookie of the Week

Air Force freshman Cole Gunner was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for his performance in two league games last weekend at Cadet Ice Arena.
Gunner had three assists as Air Force earned victories over league foes Niagara and Robert Morris. He had two assists in the 3-2 overtime win over Niagara, Oct. 14. In overtime, he forced a turnover that led to the game-win¬ner. Two days later, he had one assist vs. Robert Morris in a 4-2 Air Force win. The forward from Richfield, Minn., is the top scoring freshman in the AHA with five points and leads all players with five assists in four games this season. His five assists are the most by any freshman in the nation and rank 14th in the nation among all players.
Air Force, 2-2 overall this season, travels to Huntsville, Alabama, for a two-game series with the UAH Chargers, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 21-22, at 7:05 p.m. CT each night.
