Falcons idle until Nov. 25-26 vs. UConn

This Week Air Force (5-4-2, 4-2-1 AHA) is idle until Nov. 25-26 when the Falcons host UConn (3-4-2, 2-2-1 AHA) at 7:05 p.m. each night at Cadet Ice Arena.
Radio/Internet/Television All games will be broadcast in Colorado Springs on The Sports Animal AM 1300 and on the internet at www.GoAirForceFalcons.com Pregame show begins 30 minutes before faceoff each day. Jay Ritchie will call the play-by-play while Dave Toller will be the color analyst. All games will be video streamed with audio by America One Television. Down to the Wire This season, Air Force has played 11 games and 10 of them were essentially one-goal games (one was a two-goal final deficit including an empty-netter) or ended in a tie. AFA is 4-4-2 in those games. AFA has entered the third period with a lead six times and the Falcons are 3-2-1 Going back to last season, 34 of the last 48 games were decided by one goal or ended in a tie and AFA is 16-10-8 in those games.
Unbeaten Streak Ends Air Force's seven-game unbeaten streak, the second longest streak in the nation, ended on Nov. 11 at RIT AFA was 5-0-2 in the last seven games, the team's longest streak since winning eight straight late last season.
First League Loss Air Force opened the league schedule with a 4-0-1 record in the first five AHA games, the second-best start in school history. The streak is the longest since 2008-09 when AFA opened AHA play with an 11-0 record. The streak ended with losses at RIT and Mercyhurst
Scouting the Huskies UConn is 3-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the AHA The Huskies opened 2-0 in league play with wins at Army and over Holy Cross UConn was swept at Mercyhurst, Nov. 4-5, and tied at AIC, 2-2, Nov. 12 Sophomore forwards Brant Harris, Cole Schneider and Billy Latta are pacing the team. Harris has eight goals and 10 points. Schneider has three goals and five assists while Latta has two goals and three assists Junior goalie Garrett Bartus has played every minute. He leads the AHA and is sixth in the nation with a .937 saves percentage. His 2.40 goals-against average is fourth in the AHA. UConn is second in the league (right behind Air Force) in scoring defense, allowing just 2.56 goals per game
Series with UConn Air Force and UConn have played 23 times and the Falcons hold a 16-3-4 lead in the series that began in 1987 As AHA foes, AFA holds an 8-2-4 lead in the series beginning in the 2006-07 season AFA is 12-1-1 all-time in games played at the Cadet Ice Arena and 4-1-1 as AHA rivals AFA is unbeaten in the last 10 games against UConn, dating back to a 3-2 overtime loss at home in 2007 The teams played twice last season at UConn and the Falcons took three points with a 2-1 win and a 5-5 overtime tie The last four games, and 10 of the last 12 have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie
