Falcons travel to AIC for two-game league series

This Week Air Force (7-4-2, 6-2-1 AHA) travels to Springfield, Mass., for a two-game series against American International College [AIC] (3-10-2, 2-5-2 AHA), Friday-Saturday, Dec. 2-3, at the Olympia Ice Center. Air Force is in first place in the AHA with 13 points while AIC is ninth with six points.
Radio/Internet/Television All games will be broadcast in Colorado Springs on The Sports Animal AM 1300 and on the internet at www.GoAirForceFalcons.com Pregame show begins 30 minutes before faceoff each day. Jay Ritchie will call the play-by-play while Dave Toller will be the color analyst. All AHA games and all home games will be video streamed with audio by America One Television. Scouting the Yellow Jackets AIC is 3-10-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the AHA for ninth place. The Yellow Jackets suffered two home losses to Canisius, by identical 2-1 scores, last weekend. Prior to the two losses, AIC tied UConn and Army and defeated Brown, 3-0, at Brown. Five of the team's 10 losses have come to teams currently in the top 20 in the nation or receiving votes (#9 Union, #16 Michigan State, RV Clarkson) AIC is 1-2-2 at home this season Junior Ben Meisner ranks third in the AHA and 14th in the nation with a .929 saves percentage. He has played nearly every minute in the crease and has a 2.63 goals-against average. Junior Steve Mele and sophomore Jon Puskar lead the team with 11 points.
Series with AIC Air Force and AIC have played 22 times and the Falcons hold a 20-1-1 lead in the series. AFA is 8-0 in games played at AIC. The only AIC win in the series came last season, a 5-3 Yellow Jacket win at the Academy The teams met twice last season and split the two-game series at the Academy. AFA won game two, 12-0. This weekend's series will be the only regular-season meeting between the teams this season.
