The Falcons will play service-academy rival Army on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30, followed by VMI and Citadel at 10 p.m. The third-place game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, followed by the championship game. Both games on Friday will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.This is the first of a four-year contract for the tournament, with each school hosting once. Citadel will host in 2012, VMI in `13 and Army in `14. The tournament will be played each year during Veteran's Day weekend. Getting StartedThis season marks the 56th year of varsity basketball for Air Force. This is Air Force's 13th season in the Mountain West. AFA was a member of the Western Athletic Conference for 19 years before joining the MW in 1999. Season OpenersAir Force is 25-30 all-time in season openers. The Falcons are 19-8 at home and 6-22 on the road (including neutral games). Last season, the Falcons opened with a 66-53 victory over UCCS at home. Air Force has won its last eight season openers and 10 home openers. Boise State - 63 Up NextThe Falcons remain at home to face Western State on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. Still a Great Record at CluneIncluding a 12-5 record at home last season, the Falcons have been hard to beat at Clune Arena the last eight seasons. Since the beginning of the 2003-04 season, Air Force has won 95 of its 125 home games, good for a .760 winning percentage. In addition, the Falcons have won 40 of their 64 Mountain West games at Clune during that same stretch (.625 pct). Mountain West / Missouri Valley ChallengeThe 2011-12 edition of the MWC/MVC Challenge is the third in a four-year agreement between the Mountain West and Missouri Valley Conferences. Eight Challenge games will be played this year, and each conference will host a total of 18 games in the four-year period. Illinois State and Southern Illinois will be the Valley teams that do not participate in the 2011 Challenge Series. Air Force is one of only four teams in the conference to have at least a .500 record in at least six of the last eight seasons (UNLV (8); New Mexico (7), San Diego State, Air Force (6)). All-Time Series vs. All-Military Classic OpponentsAir Force is 1-2 all-time against Army and has never played Citadel or VMI.
