Air Force to Host USAG Championships

The Air Force women's gymnastics team closes out the 2011 season this weekend (April 8-10) hosting the USAG Collegiate Championships at the Academy's Cadet West Gym. The three-day meet will feature eight teams and 19 individuals representing four additional programs. Action begins with two qualifying sessions on Friday, April 8. Air Force will compete in the second session, which is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

WHO'S WHO
Eight teams will compete for the USAG team title over the April 8-10 weekend. Joining Air Force will be Bridgeport, Centenary, Cornell, Pennsylvania, Seattle Pacific, Temple and Texas Woman's University. In addition, individuals from Brown, Southern Connecticut State, West Chester and William & Mary will participate at the USAG meet.

TICKETING INFORMATION
Single session passes for the 2011 USAG Championships will be $10 for adults $6 for seniors and children 6-17. An all-session pass will also be available for $25 and $13. Children under 5 receive free admission to all sessions.

HOW IT WORKS
Bridgeport, Centenary, Seattle Pacific and Temple will compete in the first session of team qualifying on Friday, April 8, at 2 p.m., while Air Force, Cornell, Pennsylvania and Texas Woman's will compete in the 7 p.m. session. The top two teams from each session will advance to the finals on Saturday, April 9, while the top individuals from the first day of competition will advance to the individual event finals on Sunday, April 10.
MOVING AROUND THE GYM
Air Force will begin on the balance beam during the second session, before rotating to the floor exercise, vault and uneven bars. Below is a list of the starting rotations for all eight teams during the qualifying session. The individual participants will rotate with each team during the qualifying sessions to vie for a spot in the event finals. The Falcons will be joined by William and Mary's Melissa Cream and Kristin Milardo. Below is a list of starting events for both rotations.
DUTTON WRAPS UP REGIONAL COMPETITION
With an all-around score of 36.725, Brittany Dutton placed 16th at the NCAA Regional Championships on April 2 in Denver. Her best placement of the night came on the vault, where she finished 37th with a score of 9.650.
