Four Falcons Named to Academic All-Conference Team

WOODLAND, Calif. - Four members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team were selected to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team, the league announced today (June 2) from its office in Woodland, Calif. Jacob Houder, Travis Myers, James Okamoto and Aaron Zaiser represented the Falcons on the academic all-conference list.
Zaiser, who graduated last week with a degree in civil engineering (3.13), made his third straight appearance on the academic all-MPSF list. Myers boasted the highest GPA (3.92, mathematics and chemistry) of the 27 gymnasts listed on the academic all-conference list, while Houder also claimed academic all-MPSF honors with a 3.68 GPA in biochemistry. Okamoto, in his first year of eligibility for the league's academic award, rounds out the list of Air Force recipients with a 3.16 GPA in systems engineering management.
To be considered for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must hold a 3.0 or better GPA and be at least a sophomore, with one full academic year completed at the institution prior to the season that the award was received.
