USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The eight members of the men's gymnastics team's Class of 2015 are midway through Basic Cadet Training, having marched out to Jack's Valley this past weekend. Prior to the conclusion of the first BCT session, the gymnasts had a chance to work out at Cadet West Gym.
"I'm very proud of the eight guys so far," seventh year head coach Kip Simons said. "Basic Cadet Training is the toughest challenge they have faced so far in life and they all seem to be handling things like the warriors that they are."
The Basics of the men's gymnastics team include Skyler Awisus, Gared Chapman, Greg Chaput, Nick Gaudlip, Corbin Palmer, Josh Ramos, Niko Schwab and Jon Spiro.
"I expect them all to complete their six weeks of BCT and begin to establish their role as a cadet and as a member of the USAFA men's gymnastics team," Simons concluded.
While in Jack's Valley, the Basics will focus on field training activities, while developing their mental and physical confidence training. Classes begin for the Falcons in early August and the two-time defending USAG champions open the 2012 competitive season in January.
