Men's Gymnastics Announces 2012 Schedule

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Highlighted by six home competitions, including the USAG Collegiate National Championships and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, the Air Force men's gymnastics team released its 2012 competition schedule this morning (Aug. 12).
Air Force will kick off the 2012 campaign on Saturday, Jan. 14, when it hosts the annual Rocky Mountain Open at the Cadet West Gym. Air Force will travel to Nebraska on Sunday, Jan. 22, before returning to the Academy to host Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 28. Select Falcons will travel to Las Vegas, Nev., for the prestigious Winter Cup Challenge on Thursday, Feb. 2, before the squad looks to retain its title at the All-Academy Championships in San Jose, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Following road trips to Army (Friday, Feb. 24) and Temple (Feb. 26), Air Force returns to the Academy to host Illinois-Chicago in a pair of meets. The first, on Friday, March 2, will run in conjunction with the women's dual meet with Seattle Pacific, while the Falcons and Flames close out the weekend on Sunday, March 4. Air Force travels to Arizona State (Friday, March 9) and Oklahoma (Saturday, March 17) to close out the regular season.
The postseason begins at the Academy on Friday, March 30, when the Falcons, the two-time defending champions, host the two-day USAG Collegiate National Championship meet. Air Force will also host the MPSF Championship for the second straight season on Saturday, April 7. The 2012 season concludes with the NCAA Gymnastics Championships, which will be held April 19-21 in Norman, Okla.
