Falcons Fall to Seattle Pacific in Conference Action

SEATTLE, Wash. - Despite tallying its second-highest score of the season, the Air Force women's gymnastics dropped a 192.575-188.925 contest to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Seattle Pacific on Friday, Feb. 4, in Seattle, Wash.
The Falcons accounted for three runner-up finishes. Sophomore Jessica Hanner posted the squad's highest score of the night, tallying a 9.725 to finish second on the balance beam. Classmate Jen Larsen placed second on the uneven bars (9.675), while freshman Jessica Wallander claimed the same placement on the vault behind a score of 9.700.
Larsen, who also finished fourth on the vault (9.600), was one of two Falcons to account for multiple placements within the top half of the event field. Classmate Katie Hawthorne placed fourth on the uneven bars with a score of 9.575 and tied with freshman Alexandra Stych for sixth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.475.
Sophomore Linnaea Hance rounded out the Air Force gymnasts that placed within the top six, as she scored a 9.675 to take fourth on the balance beam.
Air Force returns to action next Sunday (Feb. 12), when it travels to Anchorage, Alaska, for a MPSF contest with Alaska-Anchorage.
