
Air Force Falls at Abilene Christian Saturday

ABILENE, Texas - Air Force women's basketball (1-10) dropped a 80-44 contest at Abilene Christian (7-2) in its final non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum. Senior Lindsey Lewis led the team with 14 points.
All five starters for Abilene Christian reached double-figures in scoring, led by forward Sydney Shelstead's game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Lewis hit five baskets from the field and was perfect on four free throws for her 14 points for AFA. The senior also led the Falcons with seven rebounds. Junior Madeleine Philpot scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Senior Jimi Blagowsky and freshman Cortney Porter had team-high's of three assists.
The Falcons shot well at the free-throw line, making 14-of-16 attempts, good for an 87.5 percentage mark.
Air Force will be off from competition for 11 days, returning to action on Dec. 31, hosting San Diego State in its Mountain West opener.
