Conference Tournament History
Air Force is 6-27 overall in conference tournament play. The Falcons are 1-0 at home, 1-5 on
the road and 4-22 in neutral site games.
The Falcons have lost 15 consecutive conference tournament quarterfinal games, dating back to a 58-51 victory over #1 seed CSU in the Western Athletic Conference quarterfinals on March 8, 1990. That is still the biggest upset in WAC tournament history, as AFA entered the tournament as the #9 seed.
Air Force has won two first-round games at the MW Championships, defeating Colorado State in 2009 and Wyoming in 2010. The Falcons are 2-14 overall at the Mountain West Championships.
All-Time Series vs. Fresno State
Fresno State holds a 12-5 advantage against Air Force. The Bulldogs swept the season series this year, winning 71-65 in Fresno and 68-51 at Clune Arena, and have won three straight meetings.
Six League Wins, Pretty Rare ...
Air Force finished the season with six victories in conference play, just the ninth time with at least six league wins since joining a conference in 1980-81.
... Three League Road Wins, Even Rarer
The Falcons also had three conference road wins this season, the most in one season since 2008 (3) and ties the third-most in one season in program history. The Falcons have won at least three road league games just seven times since joining a conference in 1980-81.
Tre' Coggins Named Third-Team All-Mountain West
Sophomore Tre' Coggins was named to the all-Mountain West third-team this season. The league's 11 head coaches, along with a selected media panel, picked the all-conference teams.
Coggins, the only sophomore or freshman on the three all-MW teams, finished the regular season averaging 15.9 points per game, ranking ninth in the league. He leads the Mountain West in three-pointers made per game for all games and league games only.
He is the 15th Falcon to earn a spot on an all-conference team and the third Air Force player to earn third-team honors, joining Tim Keller (2003 and `04) and Michael Lyons (2011).
Williams Posts Fifth Career Double-Double vs. Boise State
Junior Kamryn Williams posted his third double-double of the season and fifth of his career with a season-high 22 points and career-high 13 rebounds vs. Boise State on Saturday. His 13 rebounds were the most in one game by a Falcon since Jacob Burtschi had 13 against TCU on Jan. 14, 2006. Williams also had a double-double against Army in the season-opener (15 pts., 10 reb.) and against San Diego State on Feb. 15 (12 pts., 12 reb.). He is the first Falcon with three double-doubles in one season since Burtschi in 2006-07 and his five career double-doubles are the most by a Falcon since Burtschi (2003-07) had five in his career.
