
Falcons Head to 12th-Ranked Auburn for Dual Meet

The Air Force women's gymnastics team travels to Auburn, Ala., this weekend for a dual-meet against the 12th-ranked Tigers on Friday, Jan. 30. The contest, the second between the two schools in as many years, is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. (CT) at Auburn Arena and will be available on SEC Network+.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Auburn jumped from 19th to 12th in the national rankings after scoring a 197.075 to defeat then No. 8 Arkansas (196.250) last Friday. The Tigers are also ranked among the nation's top 25 on the uneven bars (ninth, 49.050), floor exercise (11th, 48.975) and balance beam (17th, 48.758). Individually, Auburn is led by Caitlin Atkinson, who holds top-25 rankings on the balance beam (12th, 9.867), vault (23rd, 9.875) and all-around (23rd, 39.192), and Bri Guy, who is ranked 21st on the balance beam (9.850).
WALLANDER CONTINUES TO LEAD THE CONFERENCE
Jessica Wallander continues to lead the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on the vault, holding a two-meet average of 9.813. She is one of two Falcons to hold a top-five ranking on that event, as Jamie Lewis is fifth with an average of 9.738.
AIR FORCE SURPASSES 192 POINTS IN LOSS TO SEATTLE PACIFIC
The Falcons picked up a pair of event titles during a narrow 192.650-192.275 loss to Seattle Pacific in conference action on Jan. 24 during its first meet in the newly renovated Cadet West Gym. Jessica Wallander claimed her second vault title in as many meets (9.775), while Alexandra Stych took first on the floor exercise with a score of 9.800. The pair helped Air Force to three of the top-four marks in both events. Jamie Lewis and Kim McRobbie finished third (9.725) and fourth (9.700), respectively, on the vault, while McRobbie and Wallander tied for third on the floor exercise with matching scores of 9.725.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The Falcons return to the Academy next week to begin a two-meet homestand. Air Force will play host to USAG-opponent Texas Woman's University at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, for the first of two meets at the Cadet West Gym.
