
Air Force Earns Fifth Straight Bid to NCAA Qualifier

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Air Force men's gymnastics team, ranked 10th in the national standings, was selected to compete at the 2015 NCAA National Qualifier in Norman, Okla., the men's gymnastics selection committee announced this afternoon (March 31). The invitational marks the fifth straight year that the Falcons have earned a spot as a team at the national meet.
Under the direction of 10th-year head coach Kip Simons, Air Force amassed a National Qualifying Score (NQA) of 427.113 to finish as one of the 12 teams that will compete in the first-round of the NCAA Championships. In addition to the 12 squads, gymnasts from four other schools were selected to compete as event specialists.

The national qualifier consists of two sessions on Thursday, April 9, at the Lloyd Noble Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. The top three teams and top three all-around competitors not on one of the qualifying teams, plus the top three individuals on each event not already qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor from each session will advance to the NCAA National Gymnastics Championships, which will take place on Friday, April 10 (team finals, 7 p.m.) and Saturday, April 11 (event finals, 7 p.m.).
