WHO'S WHO
Jamie Lewis, Kim McRobbie and Kara Witgen will represent the Academy in the all-around, while Annie Graft (balance beam), Alexandra Stych (floor exercise) and Jessica Wallander (vault, uneven bars) will compete as event specialists. In addition, Wallander and Shannen Kelly were named alternates on the floor exercise and balance beam, respectively.
BY THE NUMBERS
It is the first NCAA Regional for five of the six Falcons traveling to Ames.
HOW THIS WORKS
Six teams, five all-around competitors who are not on a qualifying team and one specialist per event with a minimum Regional Qualifying Score of 9.400 were named to each of the six regional sites (Ames, Auburn, Berkeley, Columbus, Morgantown, Norman). The top two teams, the top two all-arounders not on an advancing team, and any event winners not on an advancing team from each regional will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships on April 17-19.
QUARTET EARNS ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
Based on their regular-season Regional Qualifying Scores, four Falcons - Jamie Lewis, Kim McRobbie, Alexandra Stych and Jessica Wallander - combined for six all-MPSF honors. McRobbie (balance beam, all-around) and Wallander (vault, uneven bars) each picked up a pair of awards, while Alexandra Stych (floor exercise) and Jamie Lewis (all-around) each tallied one.
FALCONS FINISH SIXTH AT MPSF CHAMPIONSHIPS
Jessica Wallander earned a top-five finish on the vault and Kim McRobbie added top-10 placements on the uneven bars and all-around, as Air Force scored a 191.150 to finish sixth at the MPSF Championships on March 21. Wallander recorded a 9.825 - the Falcons' best score of the night - to tie for fifth on the vault, while McRobbie tied for sixth on the uneven bars (9.750) and placed eighth outright in the all-around (38.675). In addition, Wallander also placed within the top half of the 36-gymnast field on the floor exercise (9.775, 12th) and McRobbie shared the team lead on the balance beam with Annie Graft (9.650, 20th).
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Air Force wraps up team competition next weekend, when it travels to Philadelphia, Pa., for the 2015 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships at Penn on April 10-12.
