
Falcons Close Out Season at USAG Championships

The Air Force women's gymnastics team closes out the 2015 season this weekend, when it travels to Philadelphia, Pa., for the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. The meet, which runs from Friday, April 10, through Sunday, April 12, will be held at The Palestra on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

MEET INFORMATION
The three days of competition at the USAG Championships are broken down into two qualifying sessions (April 10), team finals (April 11) and event finals (April 12). All session tickets begin at $30 for general admission and $45 for reserved seats, while individual session tickets start at $10 (general) and $15 (reserved). The top eight programs in the USAG standings will send full squads to Philadelphia, while four more programs will travel individual gymnasts. Live stats will be available for each session via the PennAthletics.com website.
SCHEDULING 101
Air Force, Brown, Lindenwood and Texas Women's University will compete in the first qualifying session on Friday (2:00 p.m.), while Bridgeport, Penn, Seattle Pacific and Yale will take part in the evening session (7:00 p.m.). The top two teams from each qualifying session will advance to the Saturday's team finals, while the top individual performers from each qualifying session will move on to Sunday's event finals.

A LOOK AT THE RANKINGS
Air Force is ranked seventh among USAG teams, holding a regional qualifying average of 192.595. As a team, the Falcons are listed among the division's top five on the on the floor exercise, as they are ranked fourth with a RQS of 48.620. Individually, two gymnasts - Jessica Wallander (fourth, 9.825) and Jamie Lewis (10th, 9.75) - are ranked among the USAG top 10 on the vault. Wallander also leads the Falcons on the uneven bars (11th, 9.755), while Annie Graft and Alexandra Stych are the team leaders on the balance beam (15th, 9.720) and floor exercise (17th, 9.785), respectively.
LAST TIME WE MET...
The Falcons have only faced one of their three first-round opponents this season, defeating Texas Woman's University 192.500-191.850 in early February. Air Force has also faced just one opponent from the evening session, holding a 1-2 record against Seattle Pacific.
GRAFT, STYCH PACE FALCONS AT AMES REGIONAL
Annie Graft finished within the top half of the 42-gymnast field on the balance beam (9.600) and Alexandra Stych posted the squad's best score (9.750, floor exercise) to lead the Falcons at the NCAA Regional on April 4. Kara Witgen recorded a 37.550 to pace Air Force's trio of all-around competitors.
SIX FALCONS QUALIFY TO REGIONAL MEET
Jamie Lewis, Kim McRobbie and Kara Witgen represented the Academy in the all-around, while Annie Graft (balance beam), Alexandra Stych (floor exercise) and Jessica Wallander (vault, uneven bars) competed as event specialists.
