Air Force Completes Three Games at Nevada

Air Force baseball completed three games at Nevada Saturday at Peccole Park in Reno. The Falcons split a doubleheader and completed a suspended game from March 6.
In the first game, Air Force lost 12-5, finishing off a game that was suspended after eight innings due to Nevada's travel on March 6.
In the first official game of the weekend series, Nevada (17-20, 8-8) won 6-5 in 10 innings. In game two of the scheduled doubleheader, Air Force hit five home runs and won 12-7 for its 20th win of the season. The Falcons are now 20-15, 9-9 MW.
In the 12-5 loss, Trent Monaghan took the loss in the start. Shortstop Tyler Zabojnik and second baseman Shaun Mize hit home runs. Designater hitter Nic Ready and catcher Travis Wilkie had three hits each.
Trenton Brooks had the win in the start for Nevada. The Wolf Pack hit three home runs in the win.
In the first game of doubleheader, Bryce Greager's sac-fly scored Miles Mastrobuoni for the game-winning run in Nevada's 6-5 win in 10 innings. It was Air Force third-consecutive 10 inning game.
Matt Hargreaves (1-1) took the loss in relief. Starting pitcher Griffin Jax worked eight innings, striking out three. Austin McDaniel also pitched the ninth inning in relief.
The Falcons had 11 hits in the game. Ready went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Right fielder Spencer Draws added two RBIs.
Nevada reliever Ty Pennington (3-0) picked up the win. Starting pitcher Christian Stolo pitched 6.1 innings. Nevada also had 11 hits.
The Wolf Pack scored a run in the first to take an early lead. The Falcons tied it up with a run in the second. The Falcons went up 3-1 with two runs in the fourth. Nevada scored four in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-5 lead. The Falcons tied it up with two runs in the seventh.
In game two, the Falcons homered five times to club their way to the 12-7 win. Nic Ready hit two more home runs, driving in five runs. In the doubleheader, the freshman hit three home runs and drove in eight runs.
Juniors Adam Groesbeck, Bradley Haslam and Tyler Jones homered as well. Jones hit his 12th of the season and Haslam hit the first home run of his career. Haslam and Jones had four hits each.
Starting pitcher Jacob DeVries (4-4) picked up the win, striking out four in six innings pitched. Nick Biancalana pitched the final three innings to pick up the save.
Nevada pitcher Trevor Charpie (3-3) took the loss in the start, allowing seven runs in 4.2 innings pitched.
Air Force out-hit Nevada 16-6 in the game. Jordan Pierce led the Wolf Pack with two hits.
The Falcons plated two runs in the first inning, but Nevada scored three in the bottom of the inning. The Falcons tied it on Ready's solo homer in the third. The teams traded runs in the fourth to make it a 4-4 game.
Air Force went ahead 7-4 with a three-run fifth. Nevada scored two in the sixth to pull to within one. Ready then smashed a three-run homer in the top of the seventh to put the Falcons up 10-6. Groesbeck homered in the eighth and Haslam in the ninth.
Air Force and Nevada play the rubber match of the series tomorrow. First pitch is 1 pm PT.
