USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force volleyball team added three players to its roster for the upcoming season, first-year head coach Marc Swindle announced today (June 30), as the Class of 2020 arrived on base for in-processing and the start of their four-year career at the Academy.
The Falcons' incoming class, which includes two players from New Mexico – Alina Vanecek (Albuquerque) and Bianca Walker (Roswell) – and one from Iowa – Denise Ssozi (Johnston), will add two outside hitters and one middle blocker to Falcons' young lineup.
Following today's in-processing, the Academy's Basic Cadet Training (BCT) is divided into two phases. The first session takes place in the Cadet Area and focuses on military orientation, physical conditioning and understanding teamwork through sport. During the second phase, the Basics will march out to Jack's Valley, where they will focus on field training activities, while developing their mental and physical confidence.
The volleyball team opens its season on Aug. 26-27, when it hosts Grand Canyon, Jacksonville State and Montana State in the Falcon Classic.
