
Women's Gymnastics Travels to Centenary

The Air Force women's gymnastics team travels to Shreveport, La., this weekend to face Centenary on Sunday, Jan. 29. The meet, which will take place at the Gold Dome, is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
CENTENARY QUICK HITS
The Ladies, who will host Wisconsin-Oshkosh prior to their meet with Air Force, are currently ranked 72nd in the nation with a mark of 186.300. Centenary, who registered that score to finish third at the Ozone Classic during its only outing (Jan. 14), is ranked fifth amongst Division III programs and are also ranked among the division's top teams on the floor exercise (first, 47.175) and vault (second, 47.375). Three Ladies lead the DIII individual standings, as Olivia Hirsch (floor exercise, 9.750), Allison Scates (uneven bars, 9.625) and Evelyn Harris (all-around, 37.995) are ranked first in their respective events.
AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Air Force is ranked 61st in the national standings with a total team average of 190.750.
AIR FORCE IN THE CONFERENCE RANKINGS
With their 190.750 average after three meets, the Falcons are ranked fourth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Air Force also holds that same placement in the event standings of the vault (48.025), uneven bars (47.567) and floor exercise (48.100). Individually, Casey Bell and Mariana Murphy are listed fourth on the floor exercise (9.808) and all-around (38.083), respectively, while Kara Witgen tied for fifth on the vault (9.758).
WITGEN WINS VAULT TITLE IN CONFERENCE OPENER
With a career-high score of 9.800, Kara Witgen won the vault and helped Air Force to a season-high team total of 191.475 during its conference opener against No. 24 Sacramento State (193.150) on Jan. 21. The Falcons accounted for a share of the two finishes on that event, as Anna Salamone tied for second with a 9.775.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Air Force travels to Washington to begin a home-and-home conference series with Seattle Pacific next Saturday (Feb. 4). The two sets of Falcons will then travel to the Academy for a triangular meet with UC Davis on Feb. 11.
