
Tim Wang Finishes 13th at Winter Cup Challenge

VEGAS, Nev. – Air Force senior Tim Wang registered a two-day all-around total of 159.400 to finish 13th out of 43 gymnasts in the finals of the Winter Cup Challenge, which concluded this evening (Feb. 18) in Las Vegas. That placement marked the highest all-around finish in program history.
Wang, who advanced to the finals after posting a seventh-place score of 81.050 during Thursday's preliminary round, tallied a second-day total of 78.350 on Saturday night. His best event finishes came on the pommel horse and vault, as he tied for 11th on both events. The Falcons' senior scored a 13.050 on the horse for a two-day total of 27.250, while notching a 14.000 on the vault for an overall total of 28.400. He also placed within the top-20 on the still rings (13th, Saturday total of 13.650, two-day score of 27.450) and parallel bars (17th, 12.400, 26.150), while finishing 24th on the high bar (12.600, 24.550) and tying for 26th on the floor exercise (12.650, 25.600).
Air Force returns to team competition next week, when it travels to top-ranked Oklahoma for a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation dual meet on Friday, Feb. 25.
