
Eighth-Ranked Falcons Finish Second at Home Triangular

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Tim Wang and junior Fletcher Braunton earned first-place finishes, as the eighth-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics scored a 406.100 to place second at its home triangular with second-ranked Stanford (420.450) and 17th-ranked Washington (380.300) on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Wang registered an Academy-record score of 14.900 to win the pommel horse, while Braunton tallied a 14.000 to take first on the still rings. Wang, who tallied the third-best score in the NCAA this season, bettered the field by 0.300, en route to his third pommel horse title of the year.
The Falcons' team captain was one of two Falcons to impact the Academy records during today's meet, as senior Aaron Nubine posted a career-best score of 14.550 on the floor exercise to reset his own program standard and finish third.
In addition to their first-place finishes, Wang and Braunton earned fourth-place finishes on the still rings (13.700) and pommel horse (13.950), respectively. Nubine joined the pair among the top of the standings on the rings, as he tied for second with a score of 13.750.
Sophomore Christian Kalustian accounted for a pair of top-four finishes, as he tied for fourth on both the vault (14.200) and high bar (13.950). Senior Chase Cannon finished third with a score of 14.300, while junior Jonathon Fornoff placed fourth in the parallel bars with a mark of 14.100.
The Falcons travel to San Antonio, Texas, next Saturday (Feb. 11) to take on Army West Point and Navy at the annual All-Academy Championships.
