Falcons travel to Army for two-game league series

Air Force and Army renew rivalry, Nov. 2-3, at Tate Rink
This Week: Air Force (2-4-0, 2-2-0 AHC) travels to Army West Point (4-2-1, 3-0-1 AHC) for a two-game Atlantic Hockey Conference series, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 2-3, in West Point. Friday's game starts at 7:05 pm ET while Saturday's faceoff is at 8:05 pm ET.

Scouting the Black Knights: Army West Point is in first place in Atlantic Hockey with seven points and a 3-0-1 record (4-2-1 overall). After opening the season with a pair of losses to Union and UConn, the Black Knights are unbeaten in their last five games. Last weekend, Army swept Mercyhurst in Erie, 5-1 and 3-2 in overtime. Senior defenseman Dalton MacAfee and junior defenseman Alex Wilkinson are tied for the team lead with nine points (2-7-9) each. Junior forward Zach Evancho leads the team with four goals. Sophomore goalie Trevin Kozlowski has started five of the seven games and has a 1.85 GAA and a .928 saves percentage.
Series vs. Army: Air Force leads the all-time series vs. Army, 43-24-6. Army won three of the five games played last season. Army swept the Falcons at Air Force in November (3-2 and 2-0). But the Falcons won the AHC Quarterfinal Series in three games last season at West Point. After Air Force won game one, 5-3, Army rebounded for a 1-0 win in game two. In the deciding third game, Tyler Ledford's goal in overtime gave the Falcons a 1-0 win and sent Air Force to the AHC Final Four. In Atlantic Hockey games (since 2006-07), Air Force leads the series, 20-9-4 (including playoffs). Since becoming the Falcons' coach in 1997, Serratore is 32-15-5 (66 percent) vs. the Black Knights. In games played at West Point, Air Force holds a 17-15-3 advantage. Air Force is 7-2-2 vs. Army in the last 11 games at Tate Rink.

After Army defeated Air Force in hockey on Friday (4-2), the Falcons defeated Army in football (31-12) and hockey (3-1) on Saturday. Last season, the teams played in Colorado and Army swept the weekend, winning the hockey series (3-2 and 2-0) and the football game (21-0).
