USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 93-56 home contest to Colorado on Saturday at Clune Arena. Freshman AJ Walker led the Falcons with 13 points.
The Buffaloes (4-1) shot 58.6 percent from the field, including 73.3 percent in the second half. Colorado connected on 14 three's, making 48 percent of its attempts. Lucas Siewert led four Buffs in double-figures with 17 points.
Walker notched a career-high for points in his first-career start. The San Antonio, Texas, native was also 5 of 6 from the free throw line.
Junior Ryan Swan was the second Falcon in double-figures with 11 points. Swan was an efficient 4 of 6 from the field.
Lavelle Scottie and Ameka Akaya added eight points each and Chris Joyce scored seven.
Colorado raced out to a 17-4 lead six minutes in, highlighted by five made three's. The Falcons clawed their way back with a 12-7 run over the final six minutes of the first half to trail 36-26 at the break.
The Buffs shot 22 of 30 from the field in the second half to pull away.
Air Force shot 37 percent from the field on the day. Sid Tomes and Ameka Akaya led the Falcons with five rebounds each.
The Falcons return to action Wednesday, Nov. 28, hosting Missouri State as part of the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge. Air Force head coach Dave Pilipovich and his wife Kelly will be donating one dollar for every ticket sold to the game Wednesday to the American Cancer Society.
