Late Air Force Rally Comes Up Short at Northeastern

Air Force women’s basketball was unable to mount a comeback against the undefeated Huskies, falling 54-41
Boston, Mass. - Air Force ignited for a 13-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter but came up short of mounting a comeback against an undefeated Northeastern team at home. The Falcons split the weekend on the road, 1-1, to even out at 3-3 this season. Northeastern improved to 5-0.
Shooting troubles and turnovers were the difference in the game as Air Force shot only 30.8 percent from the field while giving up a season-high 27 turnovers.
Emily Conroe led the Falcons with 13 points while classmate Kaelin Immel scored nine while shooting 50 percent from the field. Senior team captain Venessannah Itugbu led the defensive effort with three blocks and four steals. Junior forward Kassady Huffman registered 10 rebounds and five points while shooting 3-4 from the free throw line.
The Huskies' senior standout, Jess Genco, led the team with 16 points while teammate Ayanna Dublin shot 5-7 from the field for 12 points.
