
Falcons Open Action at Sun Angel Classic

TEMPE, Ariz. – A top-five finish from senior Brooks Hardy highlighted the opening night of action for the Air Force track and field team at the 39th-annual Sun Angel Classic in Tempe. Members of the men's team competed in two events this evening (April 6) at Sun Angel Stadium on the Arizona State campus.
Hardy registered a season-best distance of 178'11" to finish fifth out of 16 competitors in the hammer throw.
Sophomore Connor Stevens added a top-10 finish in the pole vault, as he equaled his season-high of 16'4¾" to place seventh in the 28-jumper event. Junior Sam Hinegardner and freshman Greg Skage posted matching clearances of 15'9" to finish 10th and 14th, respectively, following the tie-breaking procedures.
The rest of the Falcons return to Sun Angel Track tomorrow (April 7) for the second day of action at the Sun Angel Classic. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. (MST) and continues through the Premiere section under the lights tomorrow night. In addition, a handful of Air Force athletes will travel to Boulder for the weather-shortened Colorado Invitational.
