
Three Record Book Additions Highlight Final Day at CU

The men also accounted for a pair of first-place marks on Saturday in Boulder.
BOULDER, Colo. – Three improvements to the all-time standings highlighted the final day of competition for the Air Force track and field team, as it wrapped up competition at the Potts Indoor Invitational this afternoon (Jan. 12) in Boulder.
The men's 4x400-meter quartet of senior Sedacy Walden, sophomore Zachary Dicken, sophomore Terrell Davis and junior Michael Rhoads clocked the sixth-fastest time in Academy history (3:12.21) to win the day's final race by more than four seconds. Senior Aryn Maxwell debuted in sixth on the program's all-time standings after posting a time of 57.04 to take second in the 400-meter dash and junior Terrell Bradford entered one of the Academy's top-10 lists for the second time in as many meets after posting the 10th-fastest 200-meter time in program history at 21.56.
Bradford was one of two Falcons to earn a top-five finish in the 200-meter dash, as senior Miguel Molas added a fifth-place time of 21.77, and the men's 4x400-meter team of sophomore Luke Zuluaga, senior David Collins, freshman Parker Garrison and classmate Sean Geither added a fifth-place time of 3:24.69.
Junior George Brown captured an event title in the 60-meter dash, clocking a time of 6.90 in the finals after winning the preliminary round with a mark of 6.88. Senior Reece Pontious joined Brown in the top five of the finals after clocking a fifth-place time of 6.98.
The Falcons accounted for multiple top-five finishes in three other events today at the CU Indoor Practice Facility, including top-three marks in the triple jump from freshman Lashawn Taylor (second, 45'9") and junior Anthony Davis (third, 44'10¾"). Senior Micah Fontaine and Collins finished third (8.25) and fourth (8.26), respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles, while Rhoads finished fourth (48.49) and Geither took fifth (49.31) in the 400-meter dash.
A trio of seniors rounded out the men's top-five finishers. Gordon Kowalkowski and Garrett Coalson took second in the 800-meter run (1:55.42) and shot put (50'4¾"), respectively, while Noah Riley finished fourth in the overall field of the mile – and second amongst collegiate runners – with a time of 4:17.22.
On the women side, Maxwell joined junior Megan Irvine, sophomore Aubrey Ridgeway and freshman Brid O'Connell on the 4x400-meter relay that took third in 3:55.34, while Irvine posted a 200-meter time of 25.84 – a mark just shy of the program's all-time list – to finish fifth. Freshman Adrianna Wilder completed the squad's top-five performers, as she posted a debut of 11:05.21 to place fourth in the 3000-meter run.
The Falcons return to the Academy next Friday (Jan. 18) to host BYU, Colorado State and Grand Canyon in the annual Air Force Team Challenge. Action is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. (MT).
