Falcons Travel to Boulder for Colorado Invitational

The two-day meet, which begins on Friday, Feb. 1, will be held at the Indoor Practice Facility.
The Air Force track and field team makes a return trip to Boulder this weekend (Feb. 1-2) for the Colorado Invitational.
MEET INFORMATION
The Colorado Invitational will be held at the Indoor Practice Facility, which is located on the east side of Folsom Field. Five of the six field events, as well as the seeded mile, will take place on Friday, while the shot put and all other running events will be held on Saturday (a tentative schedule of events is listed below). Admission is $5 on Friday and $8 on Saturday, while Colorado's "Clear Bag Policy" will be in effect both days and only water is permitted inside the IPF. Live results are scheduled to be available via CUBuffs.com (a direct link is located on the Falcons' schedule) and Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official Twitter account (@af_trackfield).

FRIDAY – 9:00 a.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 1:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, Men's Pole Vault; 2:00 p.m.: Women's Weight Throw, Men's Weight Throw; 2:00 p.m. Women's High Jump, Men's High Jump; 7:30 p.m.: Men's Mile (seeded), Women's Mile (seeded); SATURDAY – 11:00 a.m.: Women's Shot Put, Men's Shot Put; 11:00 a.m.: 5000-Meter Run, 60-Meter Hurdles (prelim), 60-Meter Dash (prelim), Mile, 60-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 60-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (men will compete first in all running events).
TOMCZAK EARNS SEVENTH CAREER CONFERENCE AWARD
Following a winning performance at last week's Air Force Invitational, Kathryn Tomczak was named the Mountain West Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 29. It is the fifth indoor award – and seventh overall – for the senior pole vaulter. Tomczak captured the honor after recording a season-best clearance of 13'9¼" to win the "Elite" section at the Air Force Invitational. Winning the pole vault by nearly eight inches, Tomczak paced the Falcons to a 1-2 finish and moved up to 15th in the national rankings.
MEN STAY IN DUAL MEET RANKINGS' TOP 20
The Falcons remained among the top 20 of the Collegiate Men's Indoor Dual Meet Rankings in the Jan. 29 edition (19th).
COMING UP
The Falcons split up next weekend (Feb. 8-9) for three road meets. The majority of the team will travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Texas Tech Shootout, while the select members of the distance team will race at the Husky Classic in Seattle and the remainder of the team will compete at the Mountain Lion Open in Colorado Springs.
