Falcons Set to Host Air Force Collegiate Open

The meet, which begins at 3:00 p.m., is the Falcons' final home meet of the indoor season.
The Air Force track and field team wraps up the home portion of its indoor season this week, when it hosts the Air Force Collegiate Open on Friday, Feb. 15. The meet, which will serve as the Falcons' final tune-up before next week's conference championship meet, is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. (MT).
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Collegiate Open, the final home meet of the indoor season, is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m., while the running events get underway two hours later (a tentative schedule of events is listed below). Live stats will be available at GoAirForceFalcons.com, while in-meet updates will be available on the team's official Twitter account (@af_trackfield). Admission is free, however fans arriving after 6:00 p.m. (when the Ticket Office opens for Air Force hockey and wrestling) will need to purchase a $10 ticket.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
3:00 p.m.: Women's Weight Throw, followed by Men's Weight Throw, Women's Shot Put, Men's Shot Put; 3:00 p.m.: Men's Pole Vault, Women's Pole Vault; 4:00 p.m.: Women's High Jump, Men's High Jump; 4:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump; 4:00 p.m.: Men's Long Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 5:00 p.m.: Mile Run, 60-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 60-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Run, 3000-Meter Run (women will compete first in all running event)
BILVADO NAMED MW ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
After running a conference-leading time of 13:59.88 in the 5000-meter run at the Husky Classic, Jacob Bilvado was named the Mountain West Athlete of the Week on Feb. 12. The only member of the conference roster to post a sub-14 minute race this season, Bilvado is currently ranked 40th in the NCAA.

Following the stellar performances of Maria Mettler, Teri Brady and Lindsey Blanks at the Husky Classic – and Jaci Smith's record-setting performance at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener in December – four of the six-fastest 5000-meter time in Air Force indoor history have come during the 2018-19 season.

Air Force travels to Albuquerque next week for the 2019 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day meet, which begins with the heptathlon and pentathlon on Thursday, Feb. 21, will be held at the ABQ Convention Center.
