The Falcons will compete in the Annual Denver Face-Off Classic against Cleveland State and Utah, Feb. 23 and 24, respectively. In-state rivals, the University of Denver, will play Utah on Saturday following thr Air Force and Cleveland State matchup. The Pios will then take on Cleveland State on Sunday.
SATURDAY, FEB., 23
The Falcons return to the University of Denver's Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium to take on Cleveland State, 11:00 a.m. MT, Saturday, Feb. 23. Air Force has their sights set on redeeming last year's 8-7 upset loss to the Vikings at USAFA.
THE SERIES WITH CLEVELAND STATE
Saturday's meeting will mark the third meeting between the programs, the series is knotted at one win apiece.
-The series began in 2017 at the Face-Off Classic
-Air Force dominated the first meeting, beating the Vikings, 16-2, in Denver
-In the last meeting, Cleveland State rushed out to a 5-1 lead in the first half and fended off an Air Force rally in the second half to beat the Falcons, 8-7, in the Holaday Athletic Center at USAFA.
SUNDAY, FEB., 24
Air Force will host Utah in its second game of the Face-Off Classic, 12 p.m. MT on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Cadet Lacrosse Stadium, located just west of the Holaday Athletic Center in the Air Force Athletics Fields. The 2019 season marks Utah's inaugural campaign as a Div. I lacrosse program. The Utes will play the University of Denver, Feb. 23.

The Falcons make their first long-distance road trip of the season as they travel to Buffalo, New York, to take on the Canisius Golden Griffins, 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 2, at the Demske Sports Complex. The last time the programs met was in the 2017 Denver Face-Off Classic where the Falcons downed the Griffs, 15-10, at Peter Barton Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
Backed by a career-high four goals from junior Trey Lervick, the Air Force lacrosse team doubled up Marist by a 12-6 score in its first home game of the 2019 season on Saturday, Feb. 16. Lervick was one of three Falcons to record multiple goals on the day, as the Falcons (1-1) captured the program's first victory over Marist (0-1) at the Academy.
Highlighted by a 39-10 advantage during the first three quarters, the Falcons outshot Marist 43-22 during the afternoon. Air Force was a perfect 16-of-16 on clears, while holding the Red Foxes to 11-of-17 in clear attempts and forcing the visitors in 24 turnovers.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brenden Host tallied six saves in the win, while senior Brandon Jones collected a game-high five ground balls. Fellow senior Trent Harper was 11-for-20 on face-off attempts, while O'Rourk added a game-high seven shots to his team-best three assists.

Senior attackman Trey Lervick netted four goals with 100-percent shot accuracy to lead the Falcons to a 12-6 win over Marist in the home-opener, Saturday (Feb. 16). The win marked Air Force's first victory over the Red Foxes when playing at USAFA.
