Three Falcons Named MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athletes

WOODLAND, Calif. – Three members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team earned All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, executive director Al Beaird announced this morning (April 12).

Senior Lukas Texeira (Waukesha, Wis., 3.17 GPA) captured academic all-conference honors for the third-straight year and became just the seventh Academy gymnast to earn the distinction in every year of eligibility, while classmate Christian Kalustian (Sacramento, Calif., 3.07 GPA) and sophomore Frankie Valentin (East Hartford, Conn., 3.08 GPA) both claimed the first MPSF academic honors of their careers.

To be considered a MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete selection, student-athletes must hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be at least a sophomore with one full academic year completed at the member institution, and have competed in 50-percent or more of the institution's competitions.

A total of 31 gymnasts received academic honors from the MPSF for the 2019 season.
