Falcons Close Out Regular Season with AF Twilight Open

Air Force's only home meet of the outdoor season will take place on Friday, May 3, beginning at 2:00 p.m. (MT).
The Air Force track and field team concludes the regular season on Friday (May 3) afternoon, when it hosts its lone home meet of the outdoor season – the Air Force Twilight Open. The meet, which will serve as the final tune-up before the conference championships, will be held at the Academy's Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Twilight Open, the Falcons' final regular season meet of the year, is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m., at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex (a complete schedule of events is listed below). The hammer throw will take place on the Upper Field, while all other events will be held within the main venue. Admission and parking is free for the meet. Live results will be available via GoAirForceFalcons.com (a direct link will be posted to the Falcons' schedule page on Friday), while Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official Twitter page (@af_trackfield).

2:00 p.m.: Women's Javelin Throw, followed by Men's Javelin Throw; 2:00 p.m. Men's Shot Put, Women's Shot Put, Men's Discus Throw; Women's Discus Throw; 2:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 2:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, Men's Pole Vault; 2:30 p.m.: Men's High Jump, Women's High Jump; 3:30 p.m. (or at conclusion of shot put): Women's Hammer Throw, Men's Hammer Throw; 4:00 p.m.: 4x100-Meter Relay, 1500-Meter Run, 100-/110-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash (women compete first in all running events)
A LOOK AT THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Highlighted by Michael Rhoads holding the eighth-fastest 800-meter time in the NCAA at 1:47.10, Air Force athletes are currently listed among the nation's top 40 in five events. Jacob Bilvado is ranked 23rd in the 5000-meter run (13:47.65) and Lindsey Blanks is listed 28th in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:14.77), while Kathryn Tomczak and Parker Spearman hold top-40 placements in the pole vault (33rd, 13'9¾") and javelin throw (39th, 218'9"), respectively. In addition, five non-traditional relays are listed among the nation's top 20, including three mentioned among the top 10.
MEN FINISH SEASON RANKED IN TOP-25 OF DUAL MEET STANDINGS
Air Force earned a #25 ranking in the final edition of the Men's Outdoor Collegiate Dual Meet Rankings, which was released on May 1. It is the highest ranking in the Mountain West.
COMING UP
Championship season begins next week, when the Falcons travel to Clovis, Calif., for the 2019 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The four-day event, which begins on Wednesday, May 8, will be held at Veterans Memorial Stadium for the second-straight season.
