Brett Rypien hit 20-of-34 passes for 399 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Broncos. Alex Mattison added 136 yards rushing and a touchdown on 22 carries as Boise State rolled up 530 total yards. The teams went back and forth in the first half which ended tied at 28-all. Boise State scored 10 straight points in the third quarter before Kadin Remsberg scored on a five-yard catch to cut the lead to 41-38 with 5:24 to play. Rypien sealed it with a 61-yard touchdown pass with 3:21 left to make up the final margin. Air Force finished with 443 total yards, including 201 rushing and 242 passing. Isaiah Sanders led the way rushing for 97 yards and a touchdown rushing on 28 carries and hitting 10-of-15 passes for 210 yards and two scores. Jeremy Fejedelem led the defense with 13 tackles.

(Nov. 18, 2017) Boise State defeated Air Force, 44-19 at home to snap a three-game losing streak to the Falcons. The Broncos took advantage of three Air Force turnovers in the first half, turning them into 17 points to take a 27-10 halftime lead. The Broncos added 10 unanswered points in the third quarter to extend the lead to 37-10. Air Force added a touchdown and field goal while Boise State added a late touchdown in the fourth quarter to make up the final margin. The Broncos had 428 total yards, including 338 passing. Brett Rypien hit 16-of-22 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns to lead Boise State. Air Force had 296 total yards. Nate Romine led the Falcons with 54 yards rushing and a TD while hitting 7-10 passes for 115 yards before leaving with an injury.
