Falcons Head to Texas for Red Raider Invitational

Air Force will compete at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center on Friday, Jan. 24.
The Air Force track and field team will compete in its first out-of-state competition of the year this weekend, as a small contingent of athletes travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Red Raider Invitational. The one-day meet, which is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. (CT) on Friday, Jan. 24, will be held at the Sports Performance Center on the Texas Tech campus.
MEET INFORMATION
The Red Raider Invitational will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock. A schedule of Air Force events is listed below. Admission is available online at $8 for adults and $5 for youth, ages 2-17. Please note that Texas Tech's "Clear Bag Policy" will be in effect. Live results will be available via Prime Time Timing (a direct link is located on the Falcons' schedule page), while the meet is scheduled to be streamed via Texas Tech TV. In addition, in-meet updates for Air Force will be available on the team's official Twitter account (@af_tfxc).
WHO'S WHO
A total of 15 teams will compete at the Red Raider Invitational, including host Texas Tech, the defending NCAA Outdoor men's champions. In addition to Air Force and the Red Raiders, the field also includes athletes from Arizona, Arkansas, Houston, North Texas, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas State, Incarnate Word, UT-Arlington, Washington State, Western Texas, New Mexico Junior College and South Plains. Arkansas (men: seventh, women: second) and Texas Tech (men: 21st, women: 24th) have both squads listed in the USTFCCCA Preseason Rankings, while Houston (women: 15th) and TCU (men: 17th) also featured nationally-ranked programs.

Mitch Lipe continues to be listed among the NCAA top 10 in the pole vault (17'6½", eighth), while Maria Mettler remains listed in the top 15 of the 5000-meter (16"01.36, 12th). In addition, following his 4780-point performance in the heptathlon on Jan. 16-17, Wyatt Murphy debuted in the nation's top 30 for that event (26th).
