Air Force women's basketball tips off against Boise State for the second time this season

LAST TIME THEY PLAYED
An explosive Air Force rally came up short in the final minutes against Boise State as the Falcons fell to the Broncos, 70-61, Wednesday evening in ExtraMile Arena. Air Force overcame as much as a 19-point deficit to come within one point of tying Boise State in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter.
Junior co-team captain Kaelin Immel led the Falcons with a season-high 28 points. She scored 15 in the fourth quarter alone which was more than any other player, Broncos or Falcons, had all game. Immel shot 50-percent from deep and 41-percent from the field on the game while adding three assists and a steal her final stat line. The native of Beaverton, Oregon, now averages 15.5 ppg and has four 20-point performances this season.
Junior co-team captain Emily Conroe was just shy of a double-double yet again, scoring nine points and collecting nine rebounds. Conroe was perfect from three-point range (3-3) and at the free throw line (2-2). She also registered two assists and a steal on the night.
Sophomore forward Riley Snyder scored 10 points off the bench with two rebounds and an assist. Sophomore classmate and point guard Briana Autrey-Thompson registered a team-high five assists while scoring six points and picking off two steals. Air Force forwards Nikki McDonald and Haley Jones made their contributions in the paint, picking up seven and six rebounds, respectively.
The Falcons' defense was noticeably effective in disrupting Boise's offense, causing 18 Bronco turnovers leading to 22 Air Force points off of lost balls.
Boise State was led by Riley Lupfer and Mallory McGwire with 14 and 13 points, respectively. McGwire registered a double-double, collecting a game-high 11 rebounds. Jayde Christopher was the Broncos' leading playmaker as she dished out 13 assists and scored eight points.
NEXT UP
The Falcons travel to San Jose, California, to take on the Spartans, Saturday (Feb. 15) at 2 p.m. PT/ 3 MT in the Provident Credit Union Event Center. SJSU won the first meeting this season, 68-60, at USAFA on January 25.
LAST GAME
Riley Snyder hit the game-winning shot with five seconds remaining in regulation to propel Air Force to a 51-49 win against Mountain West foe, San Diego State, Saturday afternoon in Viejas Arena. The Falcons improve to 5-18 with a 3-9 mark in the league while SDSU drops to 11-14, 6-7 MW.
Snyder and co-team captain Kaelin Immel led the Falcons with 17 apiece, lifting Air Force to its first win since January 8. Snyder shot 47-percent from the field (8-17), tallied three rebounds and an assist while Immel snagged six boards and shot a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line.
Sophomore point guard Briana Autrey-Thompson registered a career-best 11 assists while scoring five points and collecting four defensive rebounds. Junior teammate Emily Conroe scored eight points, snatched eight rebounds and blocked three shots on the day. San Diego State was led by a trio of scorers with 11 points each in Sophia Ramos, Taylor Kalmer and Zayn Dornstauder. Ramos led the squad in rebounding with eight boards.
IMMEL SETS THE STANDARD
Junior co-team captain Kaelin Immel is the Falcons' leading scorer, averaging 15.1 ppg. The native of Beaverton, Oregon, has 19 double-figure scoring marks and four 20+ point performances on the season, highlighted by a season-high 28 points against defending Mountain West champs, Boise State. She is the fifth-leading scorer and has the ninth-best field goal percentage (.401) in the MW.
CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME LADDER
Following her 14-point performance at LBSU (Dec. 18), Immel became the 16th all-time Falcon to achieve 1,000 career points at Air Force. Immel, who now has 1,198 career points, is the 10th all-time leading scorer in program history and fourth leading scorer in the Division I era. The next rung up on the all-time and Div. I scoring ladder is Alecia Steele with 1,237 career points.
CONROE ON THE CAREER STATS LADDER
Junior teammate Emily Conroe is following Immel's lead in the all-time points pursuit with 869 career points, a mark that ranks her 12th in the Div. I era, recently surpassing Elycia Hall (1995-99) who had 854 career points.
Emily Conroe picked up her 500th career rebound at San Diego State (Feb. 8). She has 507 career rebounds, 355 are defensive, and 152 are offensive. Conroe is the sixth Falcon in Div. I history to achieve the feat. She is currently sixth in the Div. I career-rebounding record book while former teammate, Cortney Porter, is fourth with 571 from 2015-18.
