Falcons and Lakers meet in conference series at Cadet Ice Arena
This Week - Air Force (8-17-5, 8-11-5 AHA) hosts a pair of Atlantic Hockey games against Mercyhurst (5-24-1, 3-20-1 AHA), Friday-Saturday, Feb. 21-22, at the Cadet Ice Arena. Friday's faceoff is at 7:05 pm while Saturday's game is at 5:05 pm MT.

Scouting Mercyhurst - Mercyhurst is 5-24-1 overall and 3-20-1 and in 11th place in the AHA with 10 points. The Lakers have lost nine straight with the last win coming Jan. 17 over Robert Morris. The Lakers opened the season with a 3-2 win over Arizona State, currently ranked ninth in the nation. The Lakers also split a two-game series against first-place AIC. Sophomore forward Dalton Hunter leads the team with 19 points. Sophomore forward Steven Ipri leads the team with 10 goals. Senior goalie Garrett Metcalf has started the last six games and has seen the most action in goal and had a .900 saves percentage and a 3.75 GAA.

The teams met four times last season and Air Force won the series with a 2-1-1 record. The teams split the series at the Academy in December and then Air Force took three points with a win and tie in Erie in February. Air Force is 5-2-1 in the last eight against the Lakers. In games played at the Academy, the Falcons are 7-10-1 against the Lakers.
Senior Day - Saturday's game against Mercyhurst marks the final regular-season home game for the six members of the Falcons' senior class. Seniors Erich Jaeger, Pierce Pluemer, Matt Pulver Trevor Stone, Brady Tomlak and Joe Tyran have combined to win 74 games and were part of the 2016-17 and 2017-18 AHA Tournament Championships and played in two NCAA Elite Eights. The class of 2020 has combined to play in 629 games and scored 196 points on 77 goals and 119 assists.
