Air Force is the No. 6 seed while the Lakers are No. 11
This Week - Air Force (10-18-6, 10-12-6 AHA) hosts the Mercyhurst Lakers (5-27-2, 3-23-2 AHA), Friday-Saturday, March 6-7, and Sunday, March 8 if necessary. All game times are 7:05 pm MT at the Cadet Ice Arena.
Air Force is the No. 6 seed while Mercyhurst is No. 11.

Playoff Picture - AIC won the regular-season title for the second straight season. Sacred Heart placed second while RIT was third, Army was fourth and Niagara was fifth. All have byes in the first round.
Air Force, Robert Morris and Bentley all tied for sixth, but the Falcons have the tiebreaker on both teams. As the No. 6 seed, Air Force hosts Mercyhurst in a best of three series. Robert Morris is No. 7 and hosts No. 8 Holy Cross. Robert Morris is No. 8 and hosts No. 9 Canisius.
One quarterfinal series is already set as No. 5 Niagara will travel to No. 4 Army.
If Air Force wins the Mercyhurst series, the Falcons will travel to No. 3 RIT for an Atlantic Hockey quarterfinal series, March 13-15.
Scouting Mercyhurst - Mercyhurst placed 11th in Atlantic Hockey, 5-27-2 overall and 3-23-2 in the league. The Lakers opened the season with a 3-2 win over Arizona State, currently ranked 14th in the nation. However, the Lakers' last win was Jan. 17 against Robert Morris and are 0-12-1 since that game.. The only tie came at Air Force, 1-1, on Feb. 21, a game the Falcons won in 3-on-3 overtime.
Senior James Anderson and sophomore Dalton Hunter are tied for the team lead with 20 points each. Senior Garrett Metcalf has seen the most action in goal and had a .907 saves percentage and a 3.52 GAA.
Second Meeting with Mercyhurst - Air Force and Mercyhurst met two weeks ago at the Cadet Ice Arena as the Falcons took five points in the series, Feb. 21-22. The teams skated to a 1-1 overtime tie in game one, but the Falcons earned the extra point by scoring a power-play goal in the 3-on-3 session. The next night, Air Force's Marshall Bowery scored with three minutes left in the 2-1 Falcon win.
Series vs. Mercyhurst - Air Force leads the all-time series with Mercyhurst, 21-15-5. This weekend's series is the second meeting in the last two weeks between the Falcons and the Lakers. The teams met four times last season and Air Force won the series with a 2-1-1 record. Air Force is 6-2-2 in the last 10 against the Lakers. In games played at the Academy, the Falcons are 9-10-2 against the Lakers. The teams have met three times in the playoffs and the Falcons have won all three, the 2008 championship game in double overtime (5-4), the 2009 championship game (2-0) and the 2012 semifinals (5-2).
